Like The Moon

Memory of you travels like the moon

and comes out at night

and what bright a light

are thoughts of you before slumber

how quiet the city

when you take a breath

that takes me town to town

without ever leaving your side

the moon and its travelers

the croon and its feeders

the pair of glasses you leave by the bed

before the meeting of sunlight and star

are my names

are my answers

if not you

what you mean

and pass on to the making

of all happiness and forgiveness

and now seldom do I forget

the way the light was

when you first traveled into my memory

like the moon

Take My Sadness

Take my sadness

somewhere I won't know

If it starts to crawl toward you

discard it again and again-if you must

I cannot be close to it

tempting me to dwell inside

I know well how it will smother me

saying its oh so easy

where I am comfortable

with it's false safety

and my false defense

Take my sadness

somewhere I won't know

the cherry blossom tree

the cherry blossom tree

opens her mouth

breathing pink aromas of

Earth and Fire

floating on the island of a direction-full river

she watches her back

no i swear it- cherry blossom tree-

winter is gone

these dips of cold are just a tease

i promise no more snow

Your season

pretty girl

is now and breathing

deep is the color of your strengthening

no more will winter winds blow

rest easy

put that in your knowing

wake me in the morning

with your cherry blossom birds

yawn your biggest yawn

over the island you keep safe

and from my window

i will wait for your breath to

(like magic) take all untruths away
